Trained as a pharmacist in India, he is currently based in Bulawayo, where he practices in the healthcare sector.
Career
Mukuhlani became the Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket in August 2015, succeeding Wilson Manase. He was re-elected for a second four-year term in June 2019. Before becoming Chairman, Mukuhlani served as Vice-Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket from 2004 to 2011-12, working alongside Peter Chingoka, the then head of the Board, and Ozias Bvute, the Managing Director.
Mukuhlani’s involvement with Zimbabwe Cricket began in the early 2000s when he served as Chairman of the Mashonaland Cricket Association. He played a significant role in drafting the new Zimbabwe Cricket constitution. Over the years, he has represented Zimbabwe Cricket on the ICC Board of Directors and has held various leadership roles in the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Africa Cricket Association (ACA).
In February 2023, Mukuhlani was appointed Interim Vice-Chairman of the Africa Cricket Association. The ICC also co-opted him as a member of the ICC Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee, and he currently chairs the ICC’s Cricket Kenya Committee, which is tasked with resolving governance issues within Cricket Kenya, including the development of a new constitution.
Previously, Mukuhlani served on the ICC Audit Committee and chaired the ICC Membership Committee. In August 2021, he was appointed as a member of the ICC’s Olympic Working Group, which is leading efforts to include cricket in the Olympic Games starting in 2028.

Politics
In 2018, Mukuhlani was short-listed by Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu PF, to contest in the party’s primary elections for the Mhondoro-Ngezi constituency. He competed against several other candidates, including Lindiwe Chitombo, Thompson Nhidza, Jacob Nhidza, Taurai Mabika, Edward Chimedza, and Norbert Kazembe, for the party’s nomination to represent the constituency in the general elections.
