This is the biography of Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, a Zimbabwean politician and member of the ZANU-PF party. He has held various ministerial positions and is currently serving as the Minister of Industry and Commerce. Ndlovu represents the Bulilima East Constituency in Matabeleland South Province.
Early Life and Education
Ndlovu was born on November 16, 1980, at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo. He attended Insukamini Primary School for Grades 1 to 7 and Mpopoma High School for his secondary education. He pursued his tertiary education at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Management with Finance and later a Master of Science in Finance and Investment. Ndlovu also studied for an MCom in Development Finance at the University of Cape Town.
Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu Political Career
Ndlovu’s political career began with his election to Parliament for the Bulilima East Constituency seat in the 2018 Harmonised Elections. He was appointed Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Enterprise Development after the 2018 election. In November 2019, he was appointed as Zimbabwe’s Minister of Environment, Climate Change, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry. Following the 2023 elections, Ndlovu was appointed Minister of Environment, Climate, and Wildlife.

Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu Contributions as Minister
As Minister of Environment, Climate, and Wildlife, Ndlovu has focused on promoting sustainable development and conservation efforts. He has been involved in policy interventions to support the tourism industry, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ndlovu has also worked towards achieving a US$5 billion tourism economy by 2025, which is part of the broader goal of attaining an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
In March 2024, following a cabinet reshuffle, Ndlovu was appointed Minister of Industry and Commerce. This new role places him at the forefront of efforts to boost Zimbabwe’s industrial and commercial sectors.
Awards and Recognition
In March 2023, Ndlovu received the Best African Minister of Tourism Award at the Internationale Tourism Bourse (ITB) 2023, the world’s largest travel and tourism trade fair. This recognition highlights his efforts in promoting Zimbabwe’s tourism sector on the international stage.
Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu Personal Life
Ndlovu is the son of Richard Ndlovu, a member of the ZANU-PF Central Committee. He is known for his results-oriented leadership and dedication to improving the environment and wildlife conservation in Zimbabwe.
