Vickie Maponga-Mlilo earned an Honours Degree in Journalism and Communication from the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU). Her educational background also includes a Diploma in Journalism & Communication from CCOSA and a Diploma in Public Relations, Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from the Zimbabwe Institute of Management.
Career
In her career, Vickie serves as the news anchor for ZBC television (ZBCtv) and is the host of the talk show “Another Chance.”

Personal Struggles and Mental Health
Vickie Maponga-Mlilo has openly discussed her struggles with mental health. She shared that she faced three suicide attempts, driven by a sense of hopelessness and a belief that death was the only solution to her challenges. Vickie experienced overwhelming difficulties in various aspects of her life, leading to low self-esteem. Fortunately, she sought and received treatment for clinical depression.
During a challenging period, Vickie lost a child, resulting in profound devastation, depression, and social withdrawal. The compounded emotional pain and the struggle to conceive for several years exacerbated her anxiety, eventually leading to a deep depression.
