Early Life and Background
Philana Tinotenda “Tino” Kadewere was born on January 5, 1996, in Highfield, Harare, Zimbabwe. Growing up in a football-loving family, Kadewere was inspired by his father, Onias Kadewere, who was a former footballer. Tino’s passion for football was evident from a young age, and he began playing in local youth leagues, showcasing his talent and dedication to the sport.
Tinotenda Kadewere Club Career
Kadewere attended Prince Edward School in Harare, where he continued to develop his football skills. During his time at Prince Edward, he played for the school’s football team and quickly became one of the standout players. His impressive performances caught the attention of Harare City, a club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.
In 2014, Kadewere joined Harare City, marking the beginning of his professional career. He made an immediate impact, scoring seven goals in the first half of his debut season. His goal-scoring prowess and versatility as a forward and winger made him a valuable asset to the team.
Tinotenda Kadewere European Career
Kadewere’s talent did not go unnoticed, and in the summer of 2015, he went for trials with Swedish first-division club Djurgårdens IF and French Ligue 2 side Sochaux. He ultimately decided to join Djurgårdens IF on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option for the club to sign him permanently. Kadewere made his Allsvenskan debut on August 29, 2015. He later joined Djurgården permanently and scored his first league goal for the club on July 25, 2016. One of his most memorable performances came on May 27, 2018, when he scored four goals in a league game against IK Sirius, becoming the first Djurgården player since 1978 to achieve this feat.

In July 2018, Kadewere signed a four-year contract with French Ligue 2 side Le Havre. The transfer fee paid to Djurgården was reported to be US$2.5 million. Kadewere continued to excel at Le Havre, becoming one of the top scorers in the league. His impressive performances earned him recognition and interest from top-tier clubs.
On January 22, 2020, Kadewere signed with Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais. As part of the deal, he remained on loan at Le Havre for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. Kadewere joined the Lyon squad for the 2020-21 season and quickly made an impact. On November 8, 2020, he scored a brace for Lyon in a 2-1 win over Saint-Étienne. His contributions helped Lyon compete at the highest level in French football.
In August 2022, Kadewere joined Spanish club Mallorca on loan with an option to buy. He continued to showcase his skills in La Liga, gaining valuable experience in one of Europe’s top leagues. In January 2024, Kadewere joined fellow Ligue 1 side Nantes on loan, with an option to buy.
