This is the biography of Teenage Hadebe, a footballer who plays as a defender for the Turkish Süper Lig club Konyaspor and the Zimbabwe national team.

 

Early Life

Teenage Hadebe was born on September 17, 1995, at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo. He is the last born in a family of two boys. Teenage attended Lotshe Primary School, where he started playing football when he was in grade 2. He then proceeded to Mzilikazi High School for his secondary education.

Local Zimbabwean Journey

Hadebe began his football journey with Bantu Rovers, making his debut at the tender age of 17 in 2012. He played for Bantu in Division One during the 2012 and 2013 seasons and then moved on to play in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League in 2014. After Bantu Rovers were relegated from the PSL, Hadebe joined top-flight side Highlanders in 2015 on a season-long loan. He helped Highlanders FC finish 6th on the table.

In January 2016, he made another move, joining Chicken Inn, the 2015 PSL champions. Interestingly, all three Zimbabwean clubs Hadebe played for were located in his hometown of Bulawayo.

Kaizer Chiefs

In July 2017, Hadebe signed with South African Premier Division side Kaizer Chiefs. Despite missing the first three months of the season due to an ankle injury, he made his debut for Kaizer Chiefs on November 22, 2017, in a 0–0 draw with AmaZulu.

His first goal for the club came on April 4, 2018, in the 90+5th minute, securing a 1–0 away win over Free State Stars. Hadebe ended that season with one goal in 13 league appearances, helping Kaizer Chiefs finish third in the Premier Division. Despite an ankle injury at the start of the 2018–19 season, he made 13 league appearances as Amakhosi finished ninth in the table. He also played in the Nedbank Cup, where Kaizer Chiefs finished runners-up.

Yeni Malatyaspor

On July 14, 2019, Chiefs sold Hadebe to Turkish Süper Lig side Yeni Malatyaspor. He made his debut for Yeni Malatyaspor on July 25, drawing 2–2 with Olimpija Ljubljana in a Europa League qualifying match.

Hadebe’s Süper Lig debut followed on August 18, where he picked up an assist in a 3–0 win over İstanbul Başakşehir. Despite passport issues temporarily preventing his return to Turkey after an international break, he continued to contribute to Yeni Malatyaspor’s campaign. In the 2019–20 season, he finished with 23 appearances and one assist in league play as Yeni Malatyaspor ended 16th in the table.

Houston Dynamo

In 2021, Hadebe moved to the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. He made 51 appearances for the Dynamo, scoring 3 goals during his time there.

Konyaspor

In 2024, Hadebe returned to Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Teenage Hadebe In The Zimbabwe National Team

Hadebe made his debut for the Zimbabwe national team in 2014. Since then, he has earned a total of 35 caps and scored 4 goals while representing his country. His versatility as a defender has been crucial for Zimbabwe in various international fixtures, including at the African Cup of Nations.
