This is the biography of Andrew Manongore a Zimbabwean businessman and the husband of socialite Hillary Makaya.

Background

Andrew Manongore grew up and worked in Midlands Province, where he says President Emmerson Mnangagwa supported him. Manongore claims that Mnangagwa helped him by paying his rent when he moved to Chitungwiza and assisted him in starting his business. Manongore states that Mnangagwa mentored him in business and instilled in him the values of hard work.

Past Relationships

Manongore has been linked to a past relationship with opposition politician Joana Mamombe.

Marriage to Hillary Makaya

On July 20, 2024, Andrew Manongore paid a lobola (bride price) of US$40,000 for Hillary Makaya. However, there are rumours that Manongore was already married before his union with Makaya, making her the businessman’s second wife.

Alleged Attack from Mike Chimombe and Passion Java

In March 2024, Manongore reported US-based cleric Passion Java and businessman Mike Chimombe to the police for allegedly hiring thugs to attack him. The incident occurred at the Rainbow Towers on March 13, 2024, and was reportedly captured on CCTV.

According to the police report filed by Manongore under IR 030777, Java and Chimombe are accused of hiring thugs to attack him. During the incident, Chimombe is said to have pulled a gun and pointed it at Manongore’s guards. The attackers are reported to have stolen US$18,000 from Manongore.

Sources suggest that Java was upset with Manongore for allegedly “snatching” socialite Hillary Makaya from him. Chimombe, on the other hand, was allegedly infuriated after Manongore labelled him as “broke.”

During the incident, Manongore sought refuge in a toilet and later received medical treatment along with his guards. Following the event, Chimombe reportedly apologised to Manongore, and the apology was accepted.
