This is the biography of Kingsley Mureremba a Zimbabwean professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for CAPS United Football Club in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Education and Early Introduction to Football
Mureremba attended Mt Pleasant High School, where he initially excelled in athletics and played football casually. His Physical Education teacher, Mr. Takundwa, encouraged him to take football seriously despite his initial hesitation and limited understanding of the game.
Convinced of Mureremba’s potential, Takundwa positioned him as a striker for the school team. Mureremba quickly proved his talent by scoring consistently, earning a spot on the school team and participating in the National Association of Secondary School Heads (NASH) tournament. His performances led to his selection for Team Zimbabwe in 2021.

Club Career
Cranborne Bullets
After high school, Mureremba briefly stepped away from sports while considering his future. During a casual game with friends at Dzivaresekwa Stadium, coach Nesbert Saruchera spotted his potential and invited him to join Cranborne Bullets. Initially unsure about his abilities, Mureremba eventually accepted the offer after several discussions with Saruchera.
In 2022, Mureremba joined Cranborne Bullets and quickly became a key player. However, the 2023 season ended in disappointment as the team faced relegation. The experience left Mureremba disheartened and contemplating quitting professional football.
CAPS United
Despite the setback, Mureremba’s performances caught the attention of Manica Diamonds and CAPS United, both of which approached him with offers. CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe had noticed Mureremba during a match between Cranborne Bullets and CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium in 2023.
CAPS United had always been Mureremba’s dream club, but his decision-making process was complicated. He initially joined Manica Diamonds for pre-season training but, at the start of the 2024 season, made a last-minute decision to sign with CAPS United.
Mureremba thrived at CAPS United, earning a place in the Best XI for the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season. His strong performances solidified his reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s most promising midfielders.
