Bona Mugabe Biography
Nyepudzai Bona Mugabe is the only daughter of the late Zimbabwean politician and former president, Robert Mugabe, and former First Lady, Grace Mugabe.
Age
Bona was born on 18 April 1988. (Aged 36 as of 2024).
Personal Life
Nyepudzai Bona Mugabe was named after Robert Mugabe’s mother, and she has two younger siblings, Robert Mugabe Junior, and Chatunga Mugabe.
She has an older half-brother, Russell Goreraza, from her mother’s previous marriage.
Marriage And Wedding
Nyepudzai Bona Mugabe got married to Simba Chikore on 1 March 2014 in Harare.
In mid-April 2016, she gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Simbanashe Gabriel Chikore, in Singapore. Since then, she has had two other children.
Bona had a traditional marriage ceremony with Chikore on 4 August 2013 at her rural home in Zvimba.
It was reported that her husband paid a bride price of over US $35,000 for the customary marriage.
The couple later had a wedding ceremony on 1 March 2014, which was graced by several foreign dignitaries, including South African President Jacob Zuma, Zambia’s Michael Sata and his wife Joyce, and Equatorial Guinea’s Head of State, Teodoro Obiang.
During her wedding ceremony held in Borrowdale, Bona Mugabe had Congolese musician Kofi Olomide as the guest artist who performed at the event.
It was reported that Mugabe gifted the couple US$150,000 and 150 head of cattle. The total estimated value of gifts that Bona received from well-wishers was close to US$3 million.

Education
Bona attended Dominican Convent Primary School and Dominican Convent High School for her primary and secondary education, respectively.
She later pursued her tertiary education at the City University of Hong Kong, China, where she earned a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree in 2011.
Bona then proceeded to Singapore for her postgraduate studies in banking and finance and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Banking from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).
Divorce
Bona Mugabe filed for divorce from Simba Chikore in March 2023, on the grounds of a total breakdown with no prospects for restoring their union.
According to court papers, the couple has lost all love and affection for each other and has been living separately for more than nine months.
The couple tied the knot on 1 March 2014 at the Blue Roof Mansion located in Borrowdale.
They are blessed with three children aged seven, five, and two. Bona is seeking maintenance for the children at a monthly rate of US$2,700 per child.
