This is the biography of Charles Tutorial Munganasa a Zimbabwean politician and filmmaker. He is a member of ZANU-PF and currently serves as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), a position he was appointed to on 7 May 2024.

Education
Munganasa holds a Masters Degree in Journalism and Digital Media Studies from Great Zimbabwe University (GZU).
Political Career
Munganasa is actively involved in politics as the ZANU-PF youth league secretary for administration in Masvingo province. In August 2022, he wrote a letter ordering the Masvingo City Council to prohibit the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) from holding a rally at Mucheke Stadium, citing the Local Government Act.

Career in Filmmaking
Charles Munganasa has made notable contributions to the film industry. He has served as a producer on films such as Solo na Mutsai (2017), The Story of Nehanda (2021), and Gonarezhou: The Movie (2020). In addition to his work in film production, Munganasa is recognized for his writing skills. He has written the award-winning play Operation Restore Regasi, a humorous portrayal of the final moments of the late former President Robert Mugabe’s tenure in power. In 2024, Munganasa adapted British writer Ray Cooney’s play Funny Money into Mari yaVaChivhayo, reflecting Zimbabwe’s context and sparking debates related to Wicknell Chivayo‘s spending habits. The story revolves around a fictional character named John Chivhayo, a civil servant in the Mines ministry who accidentally comes into possession of a briefcase full of money.

Appointment as ZBC Acting CEO
In January 2024, Charles Munganasa was appointed as a member of the seven-member board of directors for the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), the state broadcaster. The board is chaired by former ZBC chief executive Ms Helliate Rushwaya.
On 7 May, Munganasa assumed the role of acting CEO of ZBC, taking over from Assael Machakata, the ZBC finance director who had been serving as acting CEO since February following the suspension of Adelaide Chikunguru.
