Denny J, also known as Denford Jiro, is a Zimbabwean serial entrepreneur, media personality, show producer and host. He is recognized for his contributions to the entertainment industry, primarily as one of the producers and hosts of the popular show, The Denny J Show, which is available for streaming on the Boyz DzeTonaz YouTube Channel. He co-hosts the show with popular media personality Becky K. Additionally, Denny J has made a mark in the fashion industry with his clothing label, Boyz DzeTonaz, specializing in casual wear.

 

Background

Denny J was born in Zimbabwe, and his date of birth is currently not publicly available. Information regarding his early life, family background, and upbringing is limited.  However, he has repeatedly stated, on the Denny J Show, that he spent part of his childhood in the Chitungwiza suburb.

However, due to the bureaucratic challenges and rigid rules faced with ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation), the show did not continue airing. Denny J decided to shift the show’s focus to YouTube. The move to YouTube allowed for greater creative freedom and independence, without the constraints imposed by traditional television broadcasting.

Reviving the Denny J Show on YouTube has brought back its high-quality production, originality, vibrancy, and imaginative entertainment. The show initially catered to ZBC TV viewers and has now found a new home on the Boyz DzeTonaz YouTube Channel. Throughout its episodes, the show has featured interviews with sought-after socialites from Harare, including Shadaya Knight Tawona, DJ Rimo, DJ Towers, and Fally Ipupa Jnr. Notably, socialite Olinda Chapel-Nkomo was the show’s first female guest.

Denny J’s Legal Dispute With Stunner

In recent news, Denford Jiro and his team, represented by Mashaya and Associates, demanded a retraction from musician Desmond ‘Stunner’ Chideme for making false and defamatory statements about them. Stunner accused the Denny J Show crew of visiting his home and paying his then-wife, Dyonne Tafirenyika to tarnish his reputation. Denny J’s team strongly denied these allegations, stating that they had never been aware of Stunner’s residence or paid anyone to engage in such behaviour. They demanded proof of the accusations and insisted on a public retraction, clarification, and apology from Stunner. Failure to comply within 72 hours would result in a defamation lawsuit seeking damages of USD $50,000.
