Early Life and Education
Felix Tapiwa Mhona was born on 12 May 1974 in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. He attended Rutanhire Primary School, Garoi Primary School, Mahwanda Primary School, and Presbyterian High School for his secondary education.
Mhona attained a BCOM in Marketing at the Zimbabwe Open University, a Master in Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He also has a Diploma in banking from the Institute of Banking of Zimbabwe.
Felix Mhona Professional Career
Mhona’s professional career spans several fields. He has worked as a banker, marketing strategist, and lawyer. His expertise includes corporate finance, infrastructure project management, and business administration. Mhona has also conducted various customer service training programmes.
Felix Mhona Political Career
Mhona entered politics as a member of the ZANU-PF party.
He was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Chikomba Central Constituency 2013. He kept the seat in the 2018 Harmonised Elections and in 2023.
Felix Mhona Ministerial Position
Mhona was appointed Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development in 2021 following the death of Joel Biggie Matiza from COVID-19. Mhona oversees the development and maintenance of Zimbabwe’s transport infrastructure. He has been instrumental in various infrastructure projects aimed at improving the country’s transport network.
