This is the biography of Lieutenant General David Sigauke a diplomat currently serving as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He previously held the position of Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army.

Career
Military
Sigauke began his military career and steadily rose through the ranks. He served as a Major General and held the position of military Chief of Staff (General Staff). He was promoted to the rank of Major General on December 18, 2017.
In August 2021, Sigauke was appointed as the Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, subsequently being elevated to the rank of Lieutenant General. He led the ZNA from 2021 following the passing of his predecessor, Lt-Gen Edzai Chimonyo. Sigauke retired in October 2023 and was succeeded by Lt. General Anselem Sanyatwe.
Career as a Diplomat
On April 8, 2024, David Sigauke was appointed the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Children
On December 22, 2021, Sigauke’s son, Kudzai, passed away at the age of 31 due to complications related to diabetes. Kudzai passed away at West End Hospital. He was laid to rest at Glen Forest Memorial Park.
Sanctions
During his tenure as Brigadier General in Mashonaland West Province, David Sigauke was included on the list of individuals closely associated with Robert Mugabe who were prohibited from entering New Zealand.
