This is the biography of Martin Mapisa, a Zimbabwean football player who plays as a goalkeeper for Dynamos in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Martin Mapisa was born on May 25, 1998.
Club Career
Mapisa is a product of the Aces Youth Soccer Academy. He joined the academy in 2018 from Aces Youth Soccer Academy.
In 2020, Martin Mapisa joined Tercera División side Zamora CF in Spain from fellow Tercera Division club Vélez CF. The Tercera Division is the fourth tier of the Spanish football league system.
He joined Velez CF on a two-year contract from CD Almunecar, a team four steps down the Tercera Division.
In March 2024, Mapisa was signed by Dynamos Football Club as a direct replacement for Taimon Mvula who left the club to join ‘cash rich’ Simba Bhora in January. Mapisa reportedly penned a two-year deal with the Glamour Boys.
Racist Abuse in Spain
In April 2022, during a Spanish Segunda B Division match against CD Palencia Cristo Atletico, Mapisa, who was on loan from Zamora CF, became a victim of racist abuse from CD Palencia Cristo Atletico supporters. They directed derogatory terms like “monkey” and “macaque” at him during the match.
Match officials addressed the issue through the stadium’s public address system, warning the fans to cease such behavior. Palencia Cristo Atletico also issued a formal apology to Mapisa for the racist insults.

International Career
Mapisa represented the Zimbabwe Under-23 side as the first-choice goalkeeper for two years.
He made his debut for the Zimbabwe national football team on March 29, 2021, in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Zambia. Additionally, Mapisa was part of the Warriors squad for World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria in November 2023.
