This is the biography of Mercy Maruva-Dinha a Zimbabwean politician and a member of the Zanu-PF party. She was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare in September 2023 by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mercy Maruva-Dinha hails from the Jari area in Zvimba. She was born in Lomagundi and comes from a family of lawyers, including her husband and children. She also runs a well-known law firm.

She is married to Martin Dinha, a former long-serving Governor of Mashonaland Central. The couple got married on April 21, 1994, and renewed their wedding vows on their 20th anniversary at EskBank Farm in Mazowe.
Education
Maruva-Dinha attended Mandevhani Primary School before moving on to Msengezi High School and later Mabelreign Girls High. She holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Governance, as well as a Bachelor of Law Honours Degree (LLBS).
Political Career
Mercy Dinha has served as the secretary for legal affairs in the Zanu PF Women’s League for Mashonaland West Province. In the lead-up to the 2023 elections, she won the Zanu PF primary election for Zvimba West, defeating Ziyambi Ziyambi by over 3,000 votes. In the first round, Maruva-Dinha received 4,104 votes, narrowly surpassing the incumbent Ziyambi, who garnered 4,074 votes, while Gifford Gomwe received just 619 votes.
The Zanu PF Politburo later nullified the election results due to reports of gun violence and other electoral irregularities. Before the rerun, Gifford Gomwe withdrew from the race and endorsed Ziyambi.
In August 2023, Mercy Dinha was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Zvimba West constituency. Following this, in September 2023, she was appointed as Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
