Mthokozisi Msebe Biography | Education, Club Career, International Career, Style of Play

This is the biography of Mthokozisi Msebe, a professional Zimbabwean footballer who plays as a midfielder for the national men’s team and Scottland FC.

Age

Mthokozisi Msebe was born on 17 February 2000.

Education

He was in grade two when he was drafted into Cement Primary School Academy before joining the junior league at grade five under Black Boots F.C. He attended Mzilikazi High School. Mthokozisi Msebe started as a Grassroot Soccer (GRS) participant in 2011 when he was in grade six and continued through my secondary education. He is a graduate in the SKILLZ Core, SKILLZ Boy, and Generation SKILLZ curricula. I am also a former SKILLZ Coach; from 2018 to 2021, Msebe facilitated the SKILLZ Boy and SKILLZ Core curricula with youth in his community.

Club Career

He is a Bantu Rovers Academy product. Mthokozisi Msebe joined Bulawayo Chiefs in 2020, although his debut had to be delayed by the COVID-19-induced break. Msebe made his Premier Soccer League debut in 2022.

In January 2024, Msebe became the 11th player to sign for Simba Bhora. In January 2025, Mthokozisi Msebe was one of thirteen players who left Simba Bhora following the expiration of their contracts at the end of 2024. He then joined Scottland FC.

International Career

In September 2023, Mthokozisi Msebe was part of the hastily assembled local ensemble of the senior national team that played Namibia as part of the celebrations to mark President Mnangagwa’s inauguration at the National Sports Stadium.

Zimbabwe walked away 5-4 winners after a nervy penalty lottery after the match had ended 2-2 in regulation time.

Msebe was over the moon after he opened the scoring inside the opening two minutes before fellow debutante Farai Banda scored the second in the second half with Namibia rallying back on both occasions.

In March 2025, Mthokozisi Msebe was one of six players from Scottland FC who were announced by Michael Nees in his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C encounters against Benin and Nigeria.

Style of Play

Msebe plays as an attacking linkman. His coaches trust him for his dribbling skills, the way he switches plays, and his ability to position himself in perfect scoring positions.
