Car Accident and Culpable Homicide Charge
In a tragic turn of events, Wilson was involved in a car accident on the Bulawayo-Plumtree highway. The accident occurred when Wilson’s Toyota Hiace collided with a stationary Mercedes Benz truck that had broken down in the middle of the road. One of Wilson’s passengers, his wife Angeste Chigora, tragically lost her life in the accident. She was 29-years-old at the time of her death. Wilson himself sustained serious leg injuries.
Wilson was charged with culpable homicide in relation to the accident. The court found him guilty and convicted him. He was fined $10,000, which he was been given two weeks to pay. Failure to pay the fine within the given time frame would result in a three-month prison sentence.

The Bulawayo police launched an investigation into the accident. Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and stated that the police are carrying out their investigations. The police spokesperson also urged drivers to exercise extreme caution and observe all road and transport authority rules and regulations.

During the trial, Wilson emotionally recounted the tragic accident and the loss of his wife, Angeste Chigora. He tearfully explained his unsuccessful attempts to save her life as she bled in his arms. Wilson himself suffered serious injuries, including fractures in both of his legs. The magistrate presiding over the trial acknowledged the emotional impact on Wilson and briefly adjourned the proceedings to allow him to compose himself.
