Richard Hachiro Biography | Age, Club Career, International Career, Style of Play, Awards and Recognition

This is the biography of Richard Hachiro, a Zimbabwean footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ngezi Platinum Stars in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League and the Zimbabwe national team.

Age

Richard Hachiro was born on 27 January 1998.

Club Career

Hachiro began his senior career with Herentals F.C. in 2017. In February 2020, he transferred to CAPS United for an undisclosed fee. Ahead of the 2022 season, Hachiro moved to Chicken Inn Football Club, also for an undisclosed fee.

The 2023 Premier Soccer League season was challenging for Hachiro, as injuries sidelined him for much of the first half. During this difficult period, he considered retiring from professional football, but his wife and father encouraged him to continue pursuing his career. Toward the end of the season, Hachiro made a comeback, which impressed Ngezi Platinum Stars.

In 2024, Hachiro joined Ngezi Platinum Stars after his contract with Chicken Inn expired. He made an immediate impact, earning the ZTN Sports Man of the Match award in his first appearance for the team. He also played a key role in Ngezi Platinum Stars’ 2-0 victory over Dynamos in the Castle Challenge Cup in February 2024, where he effectively controlled the midfield.

International Career

Hachiro made his debut for the Zimbabwe national team on April 18, 2018, as a substitute in the 47th minute in a 1-0 friendly defeat against Botswana.

Warriors and Kaizer Chiefs legend Tinashe Nengomasha has likened himself to Richard Hachiro.

Awards and Recognition

On June 30, 2024, Hachiro was named Man of the Match following Zimbabwe’s 2-0 win against Zambia at the COSAFA Cup Tournament.
