This is the biography of Saul Chaminuka a Zimbabwean football coach currently serving as the head coach of Green Fuel Football Club.

Club Coaching Career

Black Rhinos

In May 2023, Chaminuka was appointed as the head coach of Black Rhinos, succeeding Stanford “Stix” Mutizwa, who was reassigned to the position of technical advisor. Mutizwa’s reassignment followed a 4-0 defeat to Manica Diamonds at Gibbo Stadium, which left him with only one win in seven games.

Christopher Mwanza, a former assistant coach at Manica Diamonds, was appointed as Chaminuka’s assistant. Maxwell Nyamupanedengu was named the goalkeepers’ coach.

Green Fuel

In May 2024, Chaminuka became the head coach of Chisumbanje-based Premier Soccer League club Green Fuel, following his departure from Bikita Minerals, a top-flight debutant team. He replaced Rodwell Dhlakama, who was dismissed the previous month when Green Fuel was in tenth place with nine points. Chaminuka had initially joined Bikita Minerals at the start of the 2024 season, leaving the club in 9th position with 13 points, just two points behind Green Fuel.

National Team Coaching Experience

Chaminuka served as an assistant coach for the Zimbabwe national team, the Warriors, under Callisto Pasuwa, alongside Mkhuphali Masuku and goalkeepers’ trainer Richard Tswatswa, for nearly 20 months from 2015 to 2017. In May 2024, he was appointed as one of two assistant coaches to Jairos Tapera on an interim basis by the ZIFA Normalisation Committee.
