Stacey Tendai Macheso is a talented musician and the daughter of renowned Zimbabwean Sungura artist Alick Macheso and his wife Nyadzisai Butau. Stacey has made a name for herself as an Afro-pop musician, following in the footsteps of her father.

Stacey has brothers Tatenda and Esau and a sister Sharon.

Music Career

Stacey began her musical journey as a singer and songwriter. She draws inspiration from various genres, especially Afro-pop.

Stacey aims to create music that resonates with people and touches their hearts. She released her first single, “Ingozi,” which received positive feedback and paved the way for her fast-rising career.

The single was recorded at Illicit Records and co-produced by DJ Marcos and Leekay. In June 2021, Stacey Macheso released her second single Amai

Stacey Macheso is married to artist Tanto Wavie.

Abuse Allegations

In 2023, Afro-pop musician Tanto Wavie denied allegations of abusing his wife, Stacey, following a series of social media posts that sparked speculation among fans and followers.

He said:

“Not everything you see on social media is true or relatable to us, these allegations are completely false and baseless. My wife is an incredibly talented artist in her own right and has been my biggest supporter from day one. I am so proud of everything she has accomplished and will always stand by her side no matter what.”
