Sharon Macheso Biography| Marriage, Wedding, Alick Macheso
Sharon Macheso is the daughter of Zimbabwean Sungura star, Alick Macheso and wife Nyadzisai.
Marriage
In 2014, Sharon got married to Kudakwashe Munetsi. Their marriage grabbed the headlines in the local media in Zimbabwe, and they had a traditional Lobola ceremony where Munetsi paid a bride price to the Macheso family.
Although the exact amount of the bride price may vary depending on the source, it is reported that Munetsi was charged a bride price of $12,000 but managed to pay $6,000.
Unfortunately, the marriage between Sharon and Munetsi did not last. Just three months after their wedding, Sharon filed for divorce.
The divorce was finalized in the High Court of Harare, with the judge granting the divorce due to the couple having lived apart for four years.
During their marriage, there were reports of domestic disputes and allegations of domestic violence. These tensions and conflicts were said to have contributed to their separation and eventual divorce.
Wedding
On Monday, August 11, 2014, Sharon Macheso and Kudakwashe Munetsi had a lavish wedding ceremony at Oliver Mtukudzi’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton, Zimbabwe.
The day started with a morning church service at St Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Waterfalls, Harare, officiated by Father Xavier Mukupo. Sharon’s father, Alick Macheso, accompanied her down the aisle.
The guests followed a black and red dress code, with men wearing black ties. Sulumani Chimbetu, a popular artist known for his hit song “Batai Munhu,” performed at the wedding, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
A special highlight of the wedding was the generous gifts presented to the couple. Alick Macheso, the bride’s father, gave Sharon and Kudakwashe their matrimonial house in Chitungwiza as a gesture of appreciation and happiness for their marriage.
Additionally, Walter Magaya, the leader of PHD Ministries, presented the newlyweds with a generous gift of USD 2,000.
However, despite the grandeur of their wedding, Sharon Macheso and Kudakwashe Munetsi’s marriage faced challenges.
Just two months after the wedding, Munetsi was charged with domestic violence, and witnesses testified about conflicts and disagreements between the couple. These issues ultimately led to their separation and subsequent divorce.
