Education and Early Football Career

Tafa attended Chipadze High School, where he began playing football. In 2012, his cousin, Goliath Kufandirori, tried to connect him with professional football academies in Harare, hoping to secure a scholarship.

During this period, Tafa briefly played for Black Rhinos’ youth team and later switched to Gunners. However, he was unable to secure admission to any school in Harare, resulting in him missing nearly two months of classes. Frustrated by the situation, his mother travelled to Harare to bring him back home. Disheartened, Tafa decided to quit football temporarily.

Club Career

Tafa resumed playing football at Chipadze Academy before joining Bindura University’s team in the second division in 2015. A year later, he was signed by Prime Rangers in Division One. His performances caught the attention of Mushowani Stars, who signed him in 2016.

Tafa played a crucial role in Mushowani Stars’ promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) in 2018 after they won the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League championship. Unfortunately, their stint in the top flight was short-lived as the team was relegated after one season.

CAPS United

Following Mushowani Stars’ relegation, Tafa joined CAPS United on a two-year deal alongside other standout players like Clive Dzingai, Clemence Gobvu, and Evans Katema. However, his start at CAPS United was delayed due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the 2021 Chibuku Super Cup commenced, Tafa made his debut but suffered a severe knee injury during the tournament, sidelining him for a significant period.

Simba Bhora

While recovering, Tafa was approached by Simba Bhora, who sought to strengthen their squad in their push for PSL promotion. Tafa became a key figure in the team, contributing significantly to Simba Bhora’s successful promotion to the Premier Soccer League the following season.
