Takunda “Jedza” Nyakakuru is a Zimbabwean actor and comedian known for his many roles in the Naiza Boom Film productions and Youtube skits.
Jedza has worked with popular comedians, including Ozemwa, Vovo, Dhafu and Jatiwero, at Naiza Boom productions.

Jedza’s real name is Takunda Claude Nyakakuru.

Early Career and Passion for Comedy
Acting and comedy have always been Takunda’s passions, and he strives to entertain and educate people through his work. He believes that comedy is essential in relieving stress and helping people laugh away their problems and sorrow.
Naiza Boom Films
In 2019, he made his debut appearance on set when he was invited by his friend Tatenda Mutasa to the studio at Naiza Boom in Chitungwiza. He was standing in for the main actor who had not turned up and gave a standout performance that impressed Michael “Naiza” Mazviona, the founder of Naiza Boom. Naiza then asked Takunda to join their team, and he became popular for his role as Jedza in Naiza Boom comedies.
Inspiration and Challenges
Takunda draws inspiration from top stand-up comedians such as United States’ Kelvin Hart and South Africa’s Trevor Noah. However, the arts sector in Zimbabwe faces a significant challenge in lack of sponsorship, which makes it hard for artists to advance their careers. Takunda stated that sponsorship is the biggest challenge he faces in taking his career to another level as most comedians rely on revenue from adverts, personal savings, and well-wishers. Despite these challenges, Takunda is grateful for the support he receives from fans on different social media platforms, such as YouTube, where his work is well-received.
