Club Career
Augusto’s professional football career began at DT Africa United, where he played under the guidance of experienced mentor Wieslaw Grabowski. The team competed in Division Two. He then moved on to Twalumba, a club in the Zifa Northern Region Division One League. After his stint with Twalumba, Augusto joined Darwin, another team in the Northern Region D1 League.
In 2015, he joined Ngezi Platinum, helping the team secure promotion to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. Although Augusto was registered with Ngezi when they entered the PSL in 2016, he did not play for the team. However, former coach Tonderai Ndiraya convinced him to stay, as he was part of the coach’s future plans.
Augusto became a regular player for Ngezi during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, scoring three goals in each of those years. Despite not scoring many goals for Ngezi, he attracted the attention of Chicken Inn. Augusto explained that his move to Chicken Inn, the 2015 Zimbabwean champions, was influenced by assistant coach Prince Matore, with whom he had previously worked at DT Africa.
During his time with Chicken Inn, Augusto scored 14 goals in 17 matches. However, he left the club after only eight months in August 2019, citing personal reasons for his departure.
He then signed with Maritzburg United in the ABSA Premiership in South Africa in 2019. However, he was released by the club in July 2020 without scoring a goal or providing an assist, after appearing in six league games and three cup matches.
Following his release from Maritzburg United, Augusto joined South African second-tier side Uthongathi FC. However, he was released by the club at the end of the 2020 season, having failed to score in nine appearances. In August 2021, Augusto joined CAPS United.
After brief stints with Maritzburg United and Uthongathi FC, Augusto returned to Zimbabwe, joining CAPS United in August 2021. However, his tenure with CAPS United was marked by controversy, including a release from the club in May 2022 due to disputes over unpaid bonuses and salaries.
However, some of the players, including Ronald Chitiyo, Rodwell Chinyengetere, and Devon Chafa, were later pardoned and rejoined the team.
On May 6, 2022, Augusto rejoined Chicken Inn Football Club as a free agent following his departure from CAPS United.
