This is the biography of William Manondo a Zimbabwean footballer who currently plays as a forward for CAPS United in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and the Zimbabwe national team.

Age

William Manondo was born on April 2, 1991.

Playing Career

Club Career

Manondo began his professional career with FC Platinum in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. During his time with FC Platinum, he was loaned out to Gunners, where he impressed after initially being sidelined by coach Rahman Gumbo at the start of the 2012 season. He was subsequently recalled to FC Platinum in July of the same year. After returning from his loan spell, he remained with FC Platinum for one more year before joining Harare City Football Club in 2013, where he played as an attacking midfielder.

In 2017, Manondo won the Chibuku Super Cup with Harare City under the coaching of Taurai Mangwiro. This achievement earned him the nickname “Mr Chibuku.”

In January 2022, Manondo joined CAPS United after his contract with Harare City expired. Manondo is the Chibuku Super Cup tournament all-time top goal scorer.

International Career

Manondo made his debut for the Zimbabwe national team in 2016, representing his country in a 2016 African Nations Championship match against Mali, which ended in defeat for Zimbabwe. He also played in Zimbabwe’s final group fixture against Uganda and scored his first international goal in a 1-1 draw.

  • Zimbabwean Independence Trophy: 2012 (with Platinum)

In 2022, Manondo won the Premiership’s Golden Boot after scoring 17 goals and was voted the runner-up for the Soccer Star award. Additionally, in March 2022, he received the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Player of the Month award.
