This is the biography of Benjamin Kabikira a prominent Zimbabwean politician currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works. He is a member of the ZANU–PF party.

Background

Benjamin Kabikira was born in Honde Valley, Manicaland province, and was raised in both Mutare and Centenary.

Benjamin Kabikira was born on October 22, 1989.

Education

In 2014, he graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with a BSc Honors degree in Civil Engineering.

Businesses

Benjamin Kabikira is the founder of Zimsteel.

Philanthropy

Kabikira has demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy through his own construction company. He oversaw the construction of nearly five classroom blocks from scratch in Muzarabani South Constituency. In January 2022, Kabikira, through Zimsteel, donated seven tonnes of maize to First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope Foundation for distribution to those in need. This donation was made in recognition of the First Lady’s significant efforts in alleviating the hardships faced by vulnerable groups in the country.

Political Career

In March 2023, Benjamin Kabikira emerged victorious in the ZANU-PF primary elections, defeating the incumbent legislator Tapera Saizi. This victory secured his nomination as the party’s candidate in the general elections held on August 23-24, 2023. Kabikira was successfully elected as the Member of Parliament for the Muzarabani South Constituency in the August 2023 elections. In February 2024, President Emmerson Mnangagwa appointed Kabikira as the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works.

Benjamin Kabikira is married, but the name of his wife is currently unknown.
