This is the biography of Frank Makarati a Zimbabwean professional football player who plays as a defender for Dynamos Football Club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Background and Education
Frank Makarati was born in Gutu, Masvingo Province. He is the third child in a family of five. Makarati attended Mutasa Primary School and Highfield High 2 School for his education.

Frank Makarati was born on March 14, 1994.
Wife and Children
Frank Makarati’s wife is Paidamoyo Matanhire. The couple has two sons named Kayden and Kendrick. Kendrick was born in September, shortly before Makarati received a call-up to the national team.

Club Career
Makarati’s football journey began during his time at Mutasa Primary School, and he continued to pursue the sport at Highfield High 2. He made his way into the national Under-20 team before starting his professional career at Buffaloes in 2014. He subsequently played for Border Strikers and later joined Manzini Wanderers, a six-time Eswatini champion.
After a brief stint in Eswatini, Makarati returned to Zimbabwe and joined How Mine in 2017. He faced financial challenges during his time at these clubs. In early 2018, he signed with Ngezi Platinum Stars, where he flourished and was awarded the club’s Player of the Year in 2019. Despite accumulating too many yellow cards and being disqualified from the Soccer Stars of the Year calendar, Makarati was recognized as Ngezi Platinum Stars’ best player that season. He contributed to the team’s journey to the Chibuku Super Cup final and a top-four finish in the league.
Dynamos
Ahead of the 2023 season, Makarati was appointed captain of Dynamos, succeeding Partson Jaure. He led Dynamos to victory in the Chibuku Super Cup, marking the team’s first major trophy win since 2014.

International Career
Although he was not selected for the final 23-man squad, Makarati was included in the CHAN provisional squad by former Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic. He also represented Zimbabwe in a friendly match against Botswana in 2023.
Awards
Makarati was recognized as one of the top 11 players of the 2021-2022 season and finished as the second runner-up in the Soccer Star of the Year award, with Walter Musona and William Manondo taking the first and second places, respectively.
