This is the biography of Kudzai Chipanga, a Zimbabwean politician and former youth leader of the ruling Zanu-PF party. He gained national prominence through his role in the party but later faced controversies, including accusations of corruption.
Early Life and Education
Kudzai Chipanga was born in 1982 in Chipanga Village, Rusape, under the leadership of Chief Chiduku. He grew up in a family of seven consisting of five sisters and two brothers.
For his education, he attended various primary schools located in Highfield, Budiriro, Nyazura, Mavhudzi, and Rusape. He completed his secondary education at Glen View 1 High School and Nyakuipa Secondary School in Rusape.

Kudzai Chipanga’s political career began in the early 2000s when he joined the Zanu-PF Youth League, rising through its ranks from district to provincial levels. By 2008, he became the Secretary for External Affairs in the national executive and, in 2014, was elected Deputy Secretary for the Youth League.
In 2013, Chipanga contested and won the Makoni West parliamentary seat, defeating MDC-T’s Webber Chinyadza. His victory cemented his status as an influential figure within Zanu-PF. He was appointed Secretary for Youth Affairs in 2016, following factional disputes and a vote of no confidence in his predecessor, Pupurai Togarepi.
Chipanga was aligned with the G40 faction in Zanu-PF’s internal power struggles, supporting Grace Mugabe over Emmerson Mnangagwa. His public confrontations with war veterans and organising the Million Man March in 2016 showcased his loyalty to Robert Mugabe. However, his outspoken defence of Mugabe during the 2017 military intervention led to his arrest and eventual expulsion from Zanu-PF.
After years in political exile, Chipanga was readmitted to Zanu-PF in 2021, though barred from holding leadership positions for three years. Currently, he is the Zanu PF Makoni district coordinating committee member.
Kudzai Chipanga Legal Troubles and Scandals
In December 2024, Chipanga faced charges of theft involving agricultural inputs. He allegedly diverted goods worth US$11,200 intended for the Pfumvudza programme. According to court records, Chipanga and his accomplices took control of the inputs after a Zanu-PF rally and distributed them without proper authorisation
Chipanga appeared in the Rusape Magistrates’ Court. He was granted bail and ordered to reside at his farm in Headlands.

Personal Life
Chipanga resides at his Wakefield Farm in Headlands. He is married to Marian Mukano, and they have three children together.
