This is the biography of Dr Millicent Sibongile Mombeshora a Zimbabwean public figure who currently serves as a commissioner of Zimbabwe’s Public Service Commission. She has a background in media and broadcasting, having been a former radio presenter and head of ZBC’s Radio 3, now Power FM.
Husband
Millicent Mombeshora is the wife of veteran Zanu-PF politician Douglas Mombeshora.
Education
Mombeshora has pursued her education extensively, obtaining undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Economics, Finance, Strategic Management, Marketing, and Business Management from reputable institutions in the United Kingdom, South Africa, and the USA.

Career
Throughout her career, Dr Mombeshora has held positions in various sectors, including both the private and public sectors in Zimbabwe. Her experience spans information, banking and bank supervision, agriculture, public administration, and management. She has served as a chairperson and board member in several state-owned enterprises and parastatals. Notably, she has also been involved with the Zimbabwe Media Commission and the Prisons and Correctional Service Commission.
Dr Mombeshora was appointed as a Commissioner of the Public Service Commission (PSC) by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, starting on February 1, 2024. Before this appointment, she worked as the Head of Strategic Planning and Special Projects in the Governor’s Office at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).
In 2008, Dr Mombeshora played a role in the presidential election run-off by developing the theme “If u believe and I believe, then all good things are possible” for Zanu-PF. The operation was orchestrated from the RBZ.
In 2013, she declined the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), following the forced leave of Happison Muchechetere.
Furthermore, Dr Mombeshora was a candidate for the Grain Marketing Board (GMB) General Manager position, alongside Mr David Machingaidze. Despite having the highest scores during the interviews, Rocky Mutenha was appointed by Joseph Made, citing pressure and the need for a substantive head at GMB. Made denied any coercion in the decision-making process.
