Rape Charge

In 2004, Musindo faced allegations of raping his maid on five occasions. The case, however, only reached court two years later, following pressure from women’s organizations threatening demonstrations against the police’s reluctance to act. Despite an order from the Attorney General, the police appeared hesitant to arrest Musindo. The investigating female police officer was even removed from the case. Musindo, denying the charges, argued that political opponents fabricated the rape allegation due to his support for President Robert Mugabe and Zanu-PF.

The legal proceedings included an unsuccessful attempt by Musindo to halt the trial in the High Court and Supreme Court appeals against adverse rulings. The trial eventually proceeded despite these legal manoeuvres.

Losing Company Shares

Musindo faced a dispute over his shares in Boltspeed Security Services, a company he co-founded in 2018 with Wilson Masokovere. Allegedly, Masokovere swindled Musindo of his shares by forging his signature and replacing him as a director. Musindo, who filed a complaint with the police’s anti-corruption unit, discovered the tampering of company documents in October 2021.
