Janet Manyowa is a Zimbabwean gospel musician who has made a significant impact in the music industry with her powerful and inspirational music. Janet started showing a passion for music at an early age.


Janet Manyowa was born on March 18, 1985, in Chegutu, Zimbabwe, making her 39 years old as of 2024.

Early background

Janet Manyowa was born in Harare and later moved to Chegutu. Her parents recognized her talent and passion for music and sent her to music school when she was just ten years old. It was during this time that she honed her musical skills and developed her craft. Janet’s career started when she began leading praise and worship in her local church, using her voice to inspire and uplift others.


Janet Manyowa’s musical journey reached new heights with the release of her debut album, “King of Glory,” in August 2015. The album became a huge success, featuring hit singles like “Amazing God” and “Ndomira Pamuri.” This propelled her into the spotlight and established her as a talented gospel artist.

In 2017, Janet released her second album titled “Grateful,” which was launched at the Celebration Centre Auditorium. The launch event featured renowned South African gospel musicians such as Dr. Tumi, Ntokozo Mbambo, and Nqubeko Mbatha. One of the standout tracks from this album was “You Are More,” where she collaborated with Nqubeko Mbatha.

Apart from her music, Janet Manyowa also ventured into television with the launch of her talk show called “Redeemed” in early 2017. The talk show focuses on gospel music and features interviews with various artists, industry leaders, and individuals who have experienced redemption in their lives.

Recognition and Awards

Janet Manyowa’s talent and dedication have not gone unnoticed. She has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential young Zimbabweans under 40 in 2018. In 2021, she was listed as one of the top 50 most inspirational women in Zimbabwe by the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Throughout her career, Janet has received numerous nominations and awards for her outstanding contributions to the music industry. Some notable awards include Best Newcomer at the 2015 Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA), Outstanding Female Musician at the 2017 National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), and Best Contemporary Gospel Musician at the 2020 Zimbabwe Music Awards.


Janet Manyowa has released several albums and singles that have garnered critical acclaim. Her albums include “King of Glory” (2015), “Grateful” (2017), and “Sounds of Victory” (2020). Some of her popular singles include “Muchengeti” featuring Shingisai Suluma, “Overcome,” and “Tarisa.”

Personal Life

Janet Manyowa is happily married to Munyaradzi Manyowa, and they have three children together named Matipa, Waishe, and Mufaro. Despite her success in the music industry, Janet is also an accomplished accountant by profession.
