Joey Nyikadzino Biography| Age, Qualifications, Career And Businesses

Joey Nyikadzino is a well-known fashionista, actress, scriptwriter and make-up artist from Zimbabwe. She is also a trained teacher.

Background

Joey was born on May 21, 1983, to a family of seven people – two boys and five girls. She was born and raised in Kambuzuma, Harare.

Education

Joey attended her primary school in the rural area at Mutoko Primary School, where she did her grade one and two before transferring to Nyadire Primary. She learnt at Nyadire from grade three until she competed for her grade seven at the school.

After Joey finished elementary school, she went to Ngezi Secondary School, where she did her Ordinary Level. She completed her ‘O’ Level education and went for Advanced Level education at Roosevelt High School in Harare.

When she passed her ‘A’ level education, Joey then attended Morgan Zintec College in Harare, where she attained a diploma in teaching.

Following her success at Morgan Zintec College, she worked as a teacher for one year but later decided to switch careers and study beauty. She went to Harare Polytechnic from 2004 to 2006 and graduated as a beautician.

Career & Businesses

After she graduated as a beautician, she worked at Ebony Hair Salon from 2007 to 2010. She then left to do her own work. In 2013, Joey opened her beauty salon called Supreme Beauty Parlour. A few years later, she opened another salon called Whispers Beauty Shop.

Joey also ventured into acting and appeared on a show called Estate Blues on ZBC TV. She also acted in some plays, which include The Long Night, Think, Outrage and Missing Chronicles.

Joey Nyikadzino also set up the Single Mothers Club (SMC) on her birthday in 2020 to help and support single mothers.

The club’s main thrust was to empower single mothers and become successful in their businesses so that they can be able to sustain a decent living by working for themselves.
