Kambucha vs. Kombucha vs. Kambucho: Origins and What’s the Difference and Which is Right for You?
In Harare, men struggling with erectile dysfunction have turned to a new alternative treatment, a supposedly sex-enhancing drink called “Kombucha”. This beverage, also known as “Kambucha”, “Kambucho”, and “Kumbucha”, is made from tea, sugar, bacteria, and yeast, and is smuggled into Zimbabwe from Zambia, with a 330ml bottle retailing at only US$1.
According to one anonymous Kombucha/Kambucha/Kambucho/Kumbucha consumer, he initially purchased the drink due to peer pressure and was surprised at the results. He claimed the beverage gave him more energy and helped with his erectile dysfunction. He even believed that it was created for the purpose of increasing male sexual libido.
The Cost of Traditional Treatment
However, for some Zimbabwean men who cannot afford traditional western medication for erectile dysfunction, such as Tadalafil and Sildenafil, traditional drugs or street drugs like Kombucha/Kambucha/Kambucho/Kumbucha have become a more viable option.
While retailers have reported selling up to 60 bottles of Kombucha/Kambucha/Kambucho/Kumbucha per day, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has reported that the drink is being smuggled into the country. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is currently engaging the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) to determine if the beverage is safe and legal for consumption.
The MCAZ, however, maintains that there is nothing wrong with Kombucha/Kambucha/Kambucho/Kumbucha, as the drink is popular and sold as a soft beverage in many other countries. It contains natural ingredients and is believed to be a safe and effective alternative treatment for erectile dysfunction.
As always, it is important to consult a healthcare professional before consuming any supplements or alternative treatments for any medical condition. Kombucha/Kambucha/Kambucho/Kumbucha may offer a cheaper and more natural option for those with erectile dysfunction, but it is important to ensure its safety and legality before consumption.
