Controversies

Child Custody Battle with Baby Mama

He was previously in a relationship with model Al-Marie Iris Hall, with whom he had a child custody dispute.

In 2021, Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa was awarded full custody of the child after the High Court ruled that his baby mama, Al-Marie Iris Hall, was toxic to the minor.

This was after High Court judges, Justice Ephraim Tagu and Justice Emilia Muchawa ruled that fathers of children born out of wedlock must also enjoy equal access to their children and play a role in their upkeep.

In their ruling, the judges noted that Mnangagwa had been a good father, while the mother was described as a violent and drug addict who once stayed at a rehabilitation home for three weeks.

The court was at one point told by Hall’s mother that she was desperately into drugs to the extent that she could even sell her baby for drugs.

Hall’s babysitter, Ndoro also said she would stay with the baby while the mother was always away clubbing.

Hall’s neighbour also confirmed that she was a violent and suicidal person

Following the custody decision, Hall occasionally takes to social media to complain that she has been denied access to the child for years now.

Poaching Allegations, 2020

Kudakwashe Mnangagwa was implicated in the poaching of wildlife in Nyangambe, in the Save Valley Conservancy, Chiredzi, located in the south-eastern part of Zimbabwe. These allegations were made by Farai Chauke, a lawyer from Nyangambe and the legal representative of the Nyangambe Community Wildlife Project. Chauke claimed that Mnangagwa, along with others, engaged in illegal hunting and poaching activities outside hunting quotas.
