KVG – Biography & Profile

Kudzai Violet Gwara, also known as KVG, is a popular Zimbabwean radio and media personality, known for hosting several shows on StarFM. She gained popularity for presenting the 326 Express Show alongside Phathisani Sibanda, forming a dynamic duo that was well-liked by listeners.

Real Name

KVG’s real name is Kudzai Violet Gwara, and she derived her professional name from the abbreviations of all her names.

Age and Date Of Birth

KVG was born on July 10, 1992, in Harare, which makes her 29 years old as of 2023.

Education

KVG attended Mutiunokura Primary School in Harare’s Mufakose township for her primary education. After completing her primary education, she attended Musengezi High School for her secondary education. However, there is no publicly available information about her tertiary education.

Personal Life

KVG prefers to keep her personal life out of the public eye, and not much is known. However, she has a brother named Lovemore.

Early Career

After completing her education, KVG initially worked at a Spar Shop located along Julius Nyerere Road in Harare’s central business district.

Career At Star FM

KVG landed a job at Star FM following grueling auditions, which was a turning point in her career. She established herself as a force in the entertainment industry by hosting the 3-2-6 express, the most listened to show during drive time. She formed a dynamic partnership with her co-presenter Phathisani Sibanda until 2020. At just 24 years old, she was one of the youngest radio presenters on StarFM and co-hosted one of the biggest slots, the drive-show.

In April 2017, KVG and her co-presenter Phathisani signed a six-month ambassadorial deal with Impala Car Rental. As part of the deal, the presenters received top-of-the-range vehicles of their choice for use during the period. In October 2016, Impala sponsored the duo’s trip to London.

On July 1, 2021, KVG revealed that she had become a homeowner, courtesy of West Property Zimbabwe, owned by Ken Sharpe.

Other interests

In addition to radio and television, KVG enjoys singing, dancing, and travelling. She has a keen interest in TV presenting and loves conscious Reggae, Dance Hall, R ‘n’ B, and House music. Interestingly, KVG wanted to be a musician growing up, aspiring to be one of the best musicians in the country. In an interview, she revealed that she had always longed to be a television personality and a musician, as she loved music growing up. Working at Star FM was a blessing for her, as she gets to hang around amazing and beautiful people whom she describes as stars.

Awards

KVG won the People’s Choice of the Year Award at the 2015 ZIWA Awards and was the Media Personality of the Year 1st runner-up at the Megafest National Business Awards 2018. KVG was placed number 71 on the 2014 Zimbabwe’s Most Influential People Under 40 list.
