This is the biography of Munashe Peter Garan’anga a professional footballer from Zimbabwe. He primarily plays as a defender for Sheriff Tiraspol and the Zimbabwe national team.

Munashe Garan’anga was born on January 18, 2001.

Club Career

Garan’anga started his football journey at the Prince Eduard Academy before moving to South Africa in 2016. He played for Ubuntu Cape Town until 2021.

In February 2022, Garan’anga joined Dynamo Brest, a team in the Belarusian Premier League, on a two-year contract. During his time there, he made 28 appearances and scored two goals. Following this, he made a career progression by signing with Sheriff Tiraspol. He became the second Zimbabwean player to join the Moldovan team, following in the footsteps of Alec Mudimu.

On February 13, 2023, Munashe Garan’anga officially signed with Sheriff Tiraspol and also played for the club in four games in the Europa League.

International Career

Garan’anga was a member of the Zimbabwe Under-23 side during the qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2019. His senior men’s debut occurred on 19 November 2023 against Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. In this match, he entered the field just after the hour, replacing Prince Dube as coach Baltemar Brito adjusted the formation to include three centre-backs.

Style of Play

Known for his ball-playing abilities, the 186cm tall defender favours his right foot and often wears the jersey number 4. Garan’anga is versatile and has been utilized as both a ball-playing and ball-winning defender on the field.
