This is the biography of Jairos Tapera, a Zimbabwean football coach, currently coaching Manica Diamonds Football Club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. In May 2024, he was appointed interim head coach of the Zimbabwe national team.

Club Coaching Career
Black Leopards
In February 2018, Jairos Tapera was appointed as the head coach of Swazi club Black Leopards, taking over from Sello Chokoe.
TelOne FC
In March 2019, Tapera was appointed as the head coach of TelOne Football Club, replacing Joel Lupahla who was made the club’s technical manager. Lupahla did not have the CAF A coaching badge to coach a top-flight team. However, Tapera was dismissed by TelOne in the middle of the 2019 season.

Black Rhinos
In January 2020, Jairos Tapera was hired as the manager of Black Rhinos Football Club ahead of the 2020 Castle Lager Premiership football season.
Other Clubs
Tapera has also coached Shabanie Mine and FC Platinum. In July 2017, he was fired by Yadah FC, and in 2018 he demanded US$74,000 in contractual and terminal benefits through his lawyer.
Tapera’s contract with Yadah was supposed to run until December 2019. His claims included $43,500 in outstanding salary arrears, $14,500 for accommodation expenses, $10,500 for school fees allowances for his children, $4,000 for refreshments, winning bonuses of $1,200, and $800 for drawn match bonuses.
Triangle United
In January 2022, Jairos Tapera was announced as the new head coach of Triangle United Football Club, joining from Black Rhinos where he was the technical advisor.
Manica Diamonds
In October 2022, Tapera was appointed as the head coach of Manica Diamonds Football Club, replacing Johanisi Nhumwa.

National Team
In May 2024, Jairos Tapera was appointed as the interim coach of Zimbabwe’s senior national men’s team by the ZIFA Normalisation Committee. He led the team in World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho in Johannesburg on June 7 and against South Africa at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on June 11.
Tapera has previously coached the Zimbabwe Under-20 team, leading them to the second round of qualifiers for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
