Job : Security Superintendent

Reporting to the Security Services Manager, the job is based at the Mine and responsible for the following

Summary of Duties 

  • Overseeing, coordinating and analyzing all security operations of work
  • Supervising and monitoring the work and conduct of security operations and surveillance team
    Implementing employee performance management processes to ensure optimum employee performance
  • Monitoring departmental system performance with the view of identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and making recommendations on the same
  • Developing and implementing effective training and mentoring programs for security services personnel
  • Identifying and assessing potential risk within the mine and implementing measures to reduce losses
  • Conducting security awareness campaigns by engaging employees at all levels
  • Ensuring compliance with SHEQ standards, policies, procedures and practices to achieve the company’s objectives

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Risk and Security Management or Equivalent
  • At least 7 years experience in Police/Military as a commissioned officer or recognised private security organisation working at managerial level
  • Experience in Mining industry will be an added advantage
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Packages and computer literate
  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems

Job : Mining Production Shift Boss

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent – Production, the job is based at the Mine and is responsible for the following

Summary of Duties :

  • Coordinating and overseeing the implementation through planning, organising and controlling the requisite mining operations
  • Ensuring appropriate mining systems are in place for production processes
  • Ensuring efficient and effective utilisation of mining equipment to ensure the full utilisation within the prescribed limits
  • Actively working with contractors to optimize performance, reliability and minimise costs
  • Effective interface with support functions and other departments to facilitate the coordination execution of work to optimize operations
  • Production of mining reports with detailed recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or Equivalent
  • Full/Surface Endorsed Mine Blasting Licencse
  • At least 5 years experience in open pit/surface mining operations
  • Effective Leadership and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems.

Job: Rigger Ropeman

Reporting to the Engineering Foreman, the job is based at the Mine and is responsible for the following

Summary of Duties

  • Aligning, leveling and anchoring machinery
  • Controlling movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces
  • Fabricating, setting up and repairing rigging, supporting structures, hosts and pulling gears
  • Giving signals to workers involved in housing and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers and equipment
  • Inspecting lifting gear daily in line with SHEQ policies and standards

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Class 1 Journeyman Certificate in Rigger Ropeman
  • At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience working in a mining,processing plant or heavy manufacturing industry
  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems.

Job : Logistics Officer

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the job is based at the Mine and is responsible for the following

Summary of Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations including customs clearing of import and exports
  • Supervise orders and arrange stocking of critical materials and equipment to ensure they meet operational needs
  • Communicate with suppliers and service providers to achieve profitable transportation deals
  • Plan and track the shipment of materials according to internal customer requirements
  • Maintain trackers, logs and records of executed orders, delivery status and customs clearing status for imports
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain needed materials for operations and projects with particular attention to cost control, quality and timely delivery
  • Engage with user departments to formulate short term and long term strategic logistics plans

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • A University Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • CIPS Qualification and/or masters degree is an added advantage
  • At least 5 years experience working as a logistics Officer in a heavy industry environment
  • Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage
  • Solid knowledge of Public Procurement
  • Solid knowledge of managing imports and exports
  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems

Job : Contracts Officer

Reporting to the procurement Manager, the job is based at the Mine and its responsible for

Summary of Duties

  • Ensure and develop corporate adherence to best practice contract monitoring procedures to ensure that contractors are achieving key tasks, outcomes and performance targets set by ZCDC
  • Engage and support managers by providing guidance on technical procurement matters, including advising on company appropriate procurement mechanisms, preparing tender documents and undertaking tender evaluation
  • Assist in the drafting of contracts in liaison with the legal department and user departments
  • Manage supplier contracts and ensure they are compliant with the Public procurement Act
  • Engage with all relevant stakeholders for procurement strategy implementation and operational procurement transactions
  • Plan, Implement, control and monitor approved changes to area of responsibility to respond to changes in the industry, legislation and other related matters including transformation and optimisation

Minimum Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • CIPS qualification and/or Master’s Degree is an added advantage
  • At least 5 years experience in working as a Contracts Officer in a heavy industry environment
  • Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage
  • Solid knowledge of managing imports and exports
  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems
