Levels was born on the 9th of September 1989 in Murewa. His real birth name is Rodger Tafadzwa Kadzimwe.
Education
Dj Levels attended several different schools in Harare.
He did his primary education at Avonlea Primary School before continuing his secondary education at Ellis Robins High School in Harare. However, after just two terms in Form 1, he transferred to George Stark High School in Mbare, only to switch again after one term due to his parents’ dissatisfaction. Finally, Levels settled at Sodbury High School in Darwendale, where he studied from Form 2 to Form 4.
Career Beginnings:
Levels began his music career at a very young age. His musical odyssey commenced at the Evangelical Fellowship of Believers Church, where he showcased his remarkable singing and keyboard talents.
After starting out with S.E.P.P Records, he eventually established his own record label Chill Spot Record with DJ Fantan (Arnold Kamudyariwa) and DJ Ribhe (Tafadzwa Mandaza).
Chill Spot Record has played a pivotal role in popularizing the Zimdancehall genre and catapulting him to stardom.
Career Highlights/Awards:
As a producer, Levels has worked with several popular Zimbabwean musicians, including Enzo Ishall, Gemma Griffiths, Killer T, Tocky Vibes, and Soul Jah Love to name just a few.
He has been accredited as one of the best Zimdancehall producers. In 2013, he won a Zimdancehall Award for the best Riddim “Zimbo Flavour”.
Marriage/Relationship:
Dj Levels was once married to Dev Sando and they have a son together. Not much is known about their relationship, however, they are reported to have separated.
Last year, Dj Levels made headlines after he was romantically linked to Shashl, the daughter of former Health Minister Obadiah Moyo.
After, months of denying the dating rumours, their relationship was exposed after their s*xtape leaked on social media.
Arrest:
In 2020, Dj Levels and his co-accused Dj Fantan and Dj Ribhe were arrested for violating Covid-19 regulations. This comes after they hosted a New Year’s Eve party in Mbare.
He was also arrested last year in 2022 after his ‘ex-girlfriend’ Shashl accused him of rape.
